LINKTools® for Cardiac Cath Lab

Waltham, Ma., March 16, 1998
LINK Medical Computing, Inc. is proud to announce the latest in its line of integration products LINKTools® for Cardiac Cath.
LINKTools® for Cardiac Cath is designed to help Cardiac Cath labs meet the challenge of efficient use of time and personnel together with the keeping of accurate and comprehensive patient records. Cardiology departments spend significant resources on intensive manual data entry and data validation. At the same time the expense of implementing a typical custom interface can impede the progress of data integration. LINK Medical Computing, Inc. recognizes this predicament that Cardiac catheterization labs are in and addresses it now with LINKTools® for Cardiac Cath.
An industry first, LINKTools® for Cardiac Cath, is a pre-configured results reporting interface for hemodynamic monitors to HL7 compliant systems that can be installed by the user.
LINK Medical is a strong advocate and supporter of existing and emerging information interchange standards in healthcare and is an active member of such groups as Health Level 7, the Andover Working Group (AWG), Microsoft Healthcare User group (MS-HUG) and the Open Cardiology Initiative (OCI). LINKTools for Cardiac Cath reflects LINK’s commitment to standards by embodying HL7 messaging, LOINC vocabulary for data encoding and ACC97 requirements for data reporting in the core product.
As with all LINK’s interface products, the underlying core technology is LINKTools® (v.3.0). LINKTools® are a time-proven, highly flexible suite of software integration modules that enable the interchange of data among different computer systems, instruments and even different applications on the same system. "LINKTools evolved from the need to move away from custom interfacing towards more generic, supportable instrument and system interfaces at the department level", said Clifford Goldsmith, President of LINK Medical Computing. The latest version of LINKTools® 3.0, allows for the efficient use of distributed, background processing on workstations running Microsoft’s Windows 95 or Windows NT.
LINK Medical Computing, Inc. works closely with vendors of cardiology systems and instruments. For LINK’s vendor partners, LINKTools® for Cardiac Cath answers the age-old dilemma of providing their customers with a well-described and entirely understood interface that is also extremely cost-effective.
