For Immediate Release:
Partnership Provides Connectivity and Installation Services for Radiology

eDictation™ and LINK Medical establish partnership to help customers easily integrate disparate systems and streamline radiology reporting

Marlton, New Jersey October 31, 2001—eDictation, Inc., is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with LINK Medical Computing, a leading healthcare software integration firm, for the use of their integration tools and installation services. eDictation provides solutions for the creation and web-based distribution of medical imaging reports. The company will be demonstrating their computerized reporting solution at the Radiological Society of North America’s 87th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting.

“LINK Medical will help us successfully integrate eDictation products with our customers’ health care software systems using the Health Level 7 (HL7) standard, “ states Curt Langlotz, MD, PhD, president and founder of eDictation. Online communication can be established rapidly between the company’s radiology reporting solution and a wide variety of HIS, RIS and medical imaging systems already installed at customers’ sites. With LINK Medical managing the integration issues, eDictation can focus on their core competency – radiology reporting.

A Totally Different Approach to Radiology Reporting
LINK Medical has worked with several speech recognition vendors, but looks forward to working with eDictation. “The product is technically advanced and we expect to achieve many positive integration milestones at eDictation customer sites,” states Andreas Theodosiou, Executive Vice President at LINK Medical. All integration tools are tested with eDictation software before implementation at a customer site. “By pre-testing and loading the LINK Medical tools, we expect to reduce the installation cycle and integrate rapidly with software systems already in place at customer sites,” concludes Langlotz.

Partnership Leads to More Flexible Pricing
With the agreement, LINK Medical is also introducing a new pricing structure. “Similar to eDictation, we will charge per transaction,” adds Theodosiou. The transaction-based model helps customers avoid a large capital expenditure when replacing their current dictation and transcription systems.
“Our transaction-based pricing also helps customers better calculate their per-report costs,” concludes Langlotz. Per-report costs can be easily compared to the revenue generated for each report and used to better manage the business of radiology.

Service is Key to Success
In addition to their integration tool set, LINK Medical will provide installation services to ensure successful communication of information between all the various information systems used within a radiology department or practice. “With the help of LINK Medical, we are able to provide a complete, end-to-end solution for radiology reporting, with limited demands on an organization’s already over-burdened information technology staff,” concludes Langlotz.

Customers Benefit from Radiology Experience
LINK Medical has integration experience with several leading radiology voice recognition systems. In addition, the company has successfully integrated a wide variety of medical devices and other clinical applications with all the major hospital information system vendors. eDictation is focused solely on reporting solutions for radiology. “The eDictation solution is built by radiologists and for radiologists,” adds Langlotz. “The bottom line is that radiologists can start using the new technology faster and without the typical delays of system interfaces,” concludes Langlotz
